What counts as a cookie or similar technology?

The rules cover cookies as well as local storage, tracking pixels, scripts, tags, and similar ways of storing information on or accessing information from a device.

Your choices

Necessary storage is used to remember your consent choice and protect requested services. Analytics and marketing technologies are off by default. The banner gives equally available options to accept all, reject non-essential technologies, or customise categories. Cookie settings remains available after you decide.

Necessary storage

• tnt-consent-v2 — first-party local storage used to remember analytics and marketing choices, the consent version, and the time of the decision. The website treats it as expired after 180 days.
• Short-lived server-side rate-limit information may be used to protect the contact form. It is not used for advertising.
• When configured, Cloudflare Turnstile performs a necessary contact-form security check and may process limited device, network, and challenge information. It is not used by The Narrow Trails for advertising.

Analytics

If Google Analytics is configured and you allow Analytics, Google may set identifiers such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> and process visit/device information to produce audience and usage reports. Exact cookies and lifetimes can change with Google configuration, so the deployed tags should be audited periodically.

Marketing

If marketing or advertising tags are configured and you allow Marketing, those tags may use storage and signals for advertising measurement, user-data processing, or personalisation. The Narrow Trails should list any newly added provider here and increase the consent version when purposes materially change.

YouTube and Instagram media

YouTube and Instagram videos first appear as a local website preview. Their normal platform player is loaded only after you press play. Loading or playing the video connects your browser to that provider and may allow it to process playback, device, and interaction information under its own privacy and cookie terms.

Google consent mode

The site uses Google's basic consent mode by default. Google Analytics and Tag Manager wait until the relevant consent is granted, and optional analytics and advertising storage is denied beforehand.

Google Tag Manager

Tag Manager is a container that can load other tags. Each tag inside the container must be configured with the correct consent requirement; adding a tag in Google Tag Manager does not automatically make it compliant.

Change or withdraw your choice

Use the Cookie settings control shown on the website. Withdrawing a previously granted category updates Google consent and reloads the page so consent-controlled custom scripts are no longer active.

Browser controls

You can also delete or block storage through your browser. Blocking necessary preference storage means the site may need to ask for your choices again.
