Terms and conditions
These terms explain the basis on which The Narrow Trails provides The Narrow Trails website, journal entries, maps, photographs, and downloadable route material.
Last updated 15 July 2026Using this website
By using The Narrow Trails, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly. If you do not agree with these terms, please stop using the website.
Outdoor information is not a guarantee
Trail descriptions, difficulty impressions, parking notes, access information, maps, coordinates, timings, weather observations, and place details reflect information available at the time and may change. They are general journal and planning information, not professional navigation, safety, medical, or legal advice.
Your responsibility outdoors
You are responsible for checking current access, rights of way, closures, weather, daylight, tides where relevant, transport, parking restrictions, mapping, equipment, fitness, experience, and emergency arrangements. Turn back or change plans when conditions or your judgement require it. Children and dependants remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult.
Maps, coordinates, and GPX files
Digital routes can contain errors, lose accuracy, differ from paths on the ground, or fail on a device. Do not rely on a single file, map, phone, signal, or battery as your only means of navigation. Check route data independently and carry suitable backup navigation for the outing.
Copyright and permitted use
Unless stated otherwise, original writing, route notes, design, branding, and photographs on The Narrow Trails are protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the website for personal, non-commercial planning. Do not republish, sell, scrape at scale, remove credits, or use material commercially without written permission.
External websites and services
Links to mapping, social media, parking, attractions, and other third-party services are provided for convenience. Those services control their own content, availability, privacy practices, pricing, and terms.
Messages and suggestions
If you send a route suggestion, correction, or other material, make sure you have the right to share it. Sending material does not transfer ownership, but you allow us to review it and contact you about it. Nothing will be published as your contribution without appropriate consideration and permission.
Availability and changes
The website may change, pause, remove content, or become unavailable without notice. We may update these terms and will show the latest revision date on this page.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to those protections, the website is provided without a promise that every item is complete, current, accurate, or suitable for your circumstances.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you keep any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the law that applies to you.
