Baitings Reservoir is a West Yorkshire reservoir near Ripponden, set just off the A58 on the edge of the South Pennines. It works well as a simple outdoor stop: park near the dam wall, take in the water and moorland views, and decide whether to keep it short or join one of the reservoir paths.
This is not listed here as a full trail. Treat it as a practical place entry for parking, directions, views, and an easy way to add a calm reservoir stop to a Calderdale day outside.

The most useful arrival point is the Yorkshire Water car park at HX6 4LR, just off Rochdale Road. Yorkshire Water describes it as being at the north-east corner of the reservoir and in line with the dam wall.
The setting is open and Pennine in feel, with water, woodland sections, dam-wall views, and longer options towards Ryburn Reservoir if you want more than a quick look around.
Reservoir safety matters here. Yorkshire Water does not allow swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, or other water sports at Baitings Reservoir. Keep to paths and keep dogs out of the water.
