The Bay Beach – Hunmanby Gap

Beach

Hunmanby Gap is a quieter way onto the broad sands of Filey Bay, reached at the end of a country lane south of Filey. At low tide the beach feels wonderfully open, with a long horizon and room to walk away from the busier resort frontage.

Visit notes

The simple car park, café and beach access make this an easy standalone stop in season. Outside the main months, do not assume the private car park or facilities will be open.

For a longer walk towards Reighton Sands or Filey, tide planning matters more than distance. Leave enough time to retrace your route before the sea reaches the base of the cliffs.
